UPDATE: The winner is Patti Paonessa! Patti, send me your mailing info so I can pass it along to Lorelie!

…Workin’ up a hot, sticky sweat is pure pleasure with a hard-ridin’ cowboy…or two.

Struggling stock contractor Gemma Jansen swallows her pride and tracks down circuit rider Cash Big Crow to offer him a job managing her ranch. Cash agrees on one condition: theirs won’t be strictly a working relationship. She’s the boss during the day, but once she’s corralled in the bedroom, Cash calls the shots. Despite concerns about their age difference, Gemma consents.

Cash suspects the sexy widow hides an untapped wild streak. He intends to loosen her tightly held reins of control—even if he has to break out his horsewhip to do it.

But Cash is in for a surprise. Gemma proves a rough and ready participant in any leather-n-lace game Cash dreams up

Between riding herd on his wayward daughter, Macie, and rowdy cowboy Carter McKay doggin’ Macie’s every boot step, Cash struggles to hide his true feelings for Gemma – except this time, Gemma’s grabbed the bull by the horns and she’s playing for keeps.

Summer’s going to be a hot one at the Bar 9.

Making Dreams Come True by guest blogger Tawny Weber

We all have them, don’t we? Some special dream we like to think about. Maybe it’s to write a book or to craft a bigger career. To find Mr. Perfect and/or raise a family. Or my current favorite, to have a body we personally admire. Or maybe that vague thing called financial security.

My dreams right now focus on a little bit of all of those. But for Delaney Conner, the heroine in my September Blaze, RISQUÉ BUSINESS, her dream was all about the career. And she was willing to do whatever it takes to make her dream come true. Including; a complete makeover, a gel bra, and a stint on a TV show. What she hadn’t bargained for was hottie Nick Angel showing up and challenging her on every level. This guy is seriously putting her dream at risk.

One of my favorite things about reading is when I come across a character who teaches me something. It could be one of those big lessons, or something as simple as a new salad recipe *g* Whatever it is, these are the characters that stick in my head long after the book is closed. Delaney did that in the way she not only pushed to make her dream happen, but how she kept working at it. Every day, she did something that put her closer to where she wanted to be.

Which makes me think I should be on the treadmill right now, and find a way to hook up my keyboard to it so I can write and exercise both at the same time.

How about you? Is there some special dream you’re working towards? How’s that going? If you care to share, I’ll pick one name from the comments to win a book from my backlist!

Dictating while driving to and from the hospital

Would appreciate good thoughts today

Taylor, Baby Sam’s mother, is having surgery to take care of several things she’s been dealing with a couple of years - or longer. All should be well, but prayers are welcomed.

UPDATE: Taylor’s doing well, and should be home by Wednesday if not tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for thinking of her.

The 52 Books Giveaway

It will start up again next weekend with Lorelei James’ RODE HARD, PUT UP WET. Charlene Teglia’s WICKED HOT follows, and then Jennifer Estep’s JINX. The link to the 52 books giveaway calendar is on the sidebar, and I still have spaces available. (And, obviously, it won’t be 52 books since there was a gap with no one requesting these last four weeks in July and August, and I’ve only a half dozen more to schedule!)

Dictating today from the living room couch

Not long after we got Snickers at 9 months old.

And today, at 2 years and 9 months, keeping me company.

Today’s dictation brought to you from the trampoline

And if you don’t think walking around on this thing and talking is as much a workout as the street mile, you’d be thinking wrong.

Though resting and talking is much nicer from here than there.

More dictating for me

More sniffing the paths that others have trod, and peed, and whatever, for Snickers.

What’s the heat equivalent of “cold as a witch’s tit” because Snickers is feeling it?

Refusing to acknowledge fake dog.
