Nothing keeps me down for long

Did you know if you are sick enough and desperate enough, you can make your own cola syrup? Vitamin Water The husband was at work while I was sick, and I couldn’t have driven anywhere even if I’d had a car, so I tried the home remedy – which worked for awhile, but eventually things have to . . . come out. Anyhow, the husband did bring me home true cola syrup and instead of Gatorade to help with hydration, he brought Glaceau Vitamin Water, which says on the label:

warning: although this product contains many of the same vitamins you need in the morning as “part of a nutritious breakfast,” we feel it’s necessary to remind you that this is not a breakfast cereal. despite the fact that it is a very good way to start off your day with calcium and lots of vitamin c, it doesn’t contain many of the cool prizes you usually find at the bottom of the box.

That cracked me up, heh. Anyhow, the husband is restricting me to soup, crackers, and tea for another day, and I am sorely missing my morning sumatra brew. The good news is that today I feel pretty durn good. The brain cells seem to be working which means hunkering down (tm Harris County Judge Ed Emmett) and getting to work today on the copy edits for NO LIMITS and the pages for the Texas Ranger book, plus the umpty billion other things on my plate that aren’t the food I wish I was up to eating. But since I know you guys are waiting for winners info, here it is:

The winner of MAXIMUM EXPOSURE from Cuppacafe is: limecello
The winner of Jaci Burton’s RIDING TEMPTATION is: Judy Cox
The winner of MAXIMUM EXPOSURE from my giveaway is: Cari Quinn
The winners of the Buy a Book, Save the World post are: Lori Ann, Kristin, and Mare

You guys send me your mailing info, and in the case of the BaBStW winners, verify the book you want is the one you listed in your original comment. The contest I’m running at Fresh Fiction goes live on November 21, but there are two others you can enter in the meantime. I’m giving away a copy of MAXIMUM EXPOSURE at both Laurie’s Laudanum and Stacy’s Place on Earth.

My granddaughter, Natalie Anne was born Sunday, November 16 at 7:11PM which is perfect for a family that loves to play Texas Holdem – and likes to gamble a bit – those are lucky numbers.
