Sybil at The Good, The Bad, The Unread is running a fun contest and giving away four copies of the book.
HelenKay Dimon is also doing an AT RISK giveaway, with two copies up for grabs.
While you’re out and about, check out jmc’s fun column on summer reading at Access Romance’s Readers Gab, where she says:
When I was a child, my family spent a week at the shore every summer. Movies were not a big part of that week: the beach house had no television (*gasp*) and the town was not particularly developed — there was no cinema within miles. What did we do to entertain ourselves? We played board games and wandered the boardwalk and read. Read? Everyone? Yes, everyone read. The beach house was conveniently stocked with a variety of books for all ages.
And just for fun, since today has been harried from the moment I rolled out of bed to old coffee left by the husband, I’ll give away two copies here. Just comment and tell me where you’re going for vacation this summer, if you’re taking one, what you’re doing for fun if not, and I’ll draw two winners randomly Thursday night, June 5, 2008, at 8:00 p.m.ish CDT.

No vacation plans so far except maybe to see my sister and her family a province away; they have built a new house 2 years ago and I have not yet been there to see it. My goodness!! We have a toy poodle, 14 yrs. old, and some places won’t accept dogs in their house so it isn’t easy.
by RobynL June 3rd, 2008 at 1:06 pmOtherwise, we will be having BBQ’s and fire pit wiener roasts/marshmallow toasting with friends.
No vacation destination but I am taking a week off just for some reading…I’m in the process of rebuilding my TBR shelf now and plan on ignoring everything else…including housework! Well I’ll still take care of the 2 dogs and 2 cats…somethings you just have to do!
by Scarlet Y Wharton June 3rd, 2008 at 1:34 pmI too have no vacation destination for this summer. I am hoping to get away for a couple of weekends to Radium Hot Springs, but nothing for certain yet. Other than the usual summer barbecues in the back yard, not much else is planned.
by Cryna June 3rd, 2008 at 2:01 pmMy vacation is getting my 3 nieces(ages 17,14,4) for a week in July, while my sister and her husband go on a cruise. We will spend lots of time with friends and family at the pool and the movies. Other than that, I’m driving to see my brother in a play in VA in a couple of weeks.
by Liza June 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 pmI don’t do vacations. I do the same thing I do the rest of the year… read. :)
by Susan June 3rd, 2008 at 2:47 pmMy children are going to visit there grandparents and cousins in NY for 2 weeks!!!! So my husband and I will have that time to hand out together and we will probably go over to Bolixi for a couple of days
by Christina June 3rd, 2008 at 3:25 pmI’ll be going with my brother to Russia, Finland, and Sweden for a week and a half in August. Other than that, my only other summer plans are to take 4 of my nieces and nephews to the fireworks at the MLL game here on the fourth of July.
by Karin June 3rd, 2008 at 3:27 pmNo vacation plan yet but if there’s ever one, it’d be someplace with a beach.
by Mona June 3rd, 2008 at 5:15 pmI don’t think we’ve got vacation plans yet–the kids can’t wait for school to be over, but I’m a bit terrified at what needs to happen between now and then–end-of-the-year parties, and all sorts of hoopla! Must keep making time to read!! RobynL–BBQ and marshmallow toasting sound pretty yummy!
by Fedora June 3rd, 2008 at 6:58 pmI was going to go to Vegas next week, but that is a no go, so my family and I are planning on going to Wisconsin Dells in 2 weeks. It has alot of waterpark fun there and it’s not too far, so won’t be too colstly in gas.
by Dina June 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 pmI’m heading to Seattle in early August for a long weekend and a booksigning with Sherrilyn Kenyon! My sisters are tagging along and we’re just going to hang out and probably do some window shopping.
And then the family is planning on a white water rafting trip. I can’t wait. It’s been 10 years since I’ve gone rafting and it’s about time I go again.
by Jennifer K. June 3rd, 2008 at 8:15 pmwell this years vacation I am going from Kansas to South Carolina (Charleston) and down to Savannah, GA!! we are going in September. It will be the first time in both of those states and I just cant wait.
by Rose June 3rd, 2008 at 10:21 pmI do not have any vacation plans either this summer. I would like one. :) I would like to sleep in late for a whole week and worry about going to work.
by Amelia June 3rd, 2008 at 11:39 pmAs of this moment, I do not have any vacation plans… I guess relaxing by the pool or going to a party will be my entertainment, along with reading!!! :D

by Crystal B. June 4th, 2008 at 11:57 amNo current vacation plans. Planning a trip in December to Disney with the kids so the summer will be spent relaxing…and reading!!!
by Michelle B June 4th, 2008 at 9:52 pmI plan to sit out in the swing in our backyard and read books that I am eager to read. Inside the house the phone is bound to ring or I will see something that needs doing; but the swing is my haven.
