Giving Away an ARC of WITH EXTREME PLEASURE

I launch a brand new autumn blog theme and then I disappear. Sorry about that. Lots of stuff keeping me offline. This weekend I’m in Baton Rouge for the Heart of LA Readers Luncheon. To hold you till I can get back to blogging next week, I’ll leave you with a weekend giveaway – an ARC of WITH EXTREME PLEASURE.

With Extreme PleasureONLY SOMETHING THIS DANGEROUS…

After three weeks in Manhattan, Kingdom Trahan is ready to get back to bayous, crawfish boils, and afternoons fishing on the Gulf. But before he can pull out of the parking garage, he meets a curvy detour. King noticed Cady Kowalski on the photo shoot he just endured—sexy and confident, with a waifish look that belies the way she corralled him into submission using only a can of hairspray. Yet Cady isn’t confident now. She’s bruised, edgy, and desperate to get out of town…

COULD FEEL THIS GOOD…

For years, Cady has been looking over her shoulder, wondering when the gang of drug-running criminals who killed her brother would make their move on her. She’s grown used to having no one to turn to, no one to trust. But King isn’t walking away—not even when their lives are threatened, again and again. Drawing Cady’s pursuers out of hiding is the only way to end this, and it’s also the most reckless thing they can do…short of diving into a red-hot affair from which there’s no turning back…

With Extreme Pleasure Alison Kent. Kensington/Brava, $14 paper (288p) ISBN 978-0-7582-1758-5

Kent’s 11th erotic SG-5 thriller (after 2009’s No Limits) doesn’t feature that crime-fighting organization directly, but does showcase a related character, Kingdom “King” Trahan, a rich Louisiana model and ex-con who rescues wan makeup artist Cady Kowalski. King first meets Cady when the battered girl climbs into his Hummer, pleading for a ride out of town. When they stop by Cadie’s apartment to pick up her things, Cady’s roommate tries to shoot her, setting off King’s protective instincts. Not surprisingly, a passionate attraction develops between them, and the suspense heats up similarly; as King and Cady avoid hit men and car bombs, King learns that Cady carries a heavy secret—the part she played in her brother’s death eight years earlier. Before long, the pair is recruited by a mysterious agent to catch one of their pursuers, who also had a hand in Cady’s brother’s death. As always, Kent’s mix of thrills and romance is familiar but satisfying. (Dec.) ~ Publishers Weekly

I’ll draw a winner on Monday, October 5, 2009, 8:00 p.m.ish CDT from the pool of comments to this post. Just answer me this: What are YOU doing this weekend?

Chinese school (yep, the kids just LOVE that. NOT.) and a friend’s kid’s birthday party (which the kids DO love), church, and hopefully not too much else! Hope you’re enjoying Baton Rouge! I *am* enjoying your gorgeously colored autumn theme :)

    Hi Alison,

This weekend I’m taking the dogs to the groomer and I’m planting bulbs and baking pumpkin bread. In between that I’ll be writing. Nothing too exciting, but it needs to get done.

    Have a great weekend,
    Debra

This weekend is full of…. not fun stuff. I’ve been putting of many things I hate to do like clean and reorganize. I do normal household chores, but sometimes it takes a little bit more. And that is what I put off. Who wants to do that when you can go shopping, or read a good book. Like for instance one by you Alison. Sadly I’ve already read all of the ones I have, and I’m not a re-reader. Need something new so that I don’t have to clean….save me :)

I’m staying in (it’s raining all weekend) and renting Scary Movies. If you consider Abbott & Costello and the Wolfman, Dracula, etc. movies scary…I do!

Besides trying to get some reading time in – looking into getting the seasonal flu shots, going to Borders, picking up some toys to have for the baby who will be 1 next month – I cannot believe! – hoping to find some of the last fresh tomatoes at our local farm stand, going to lunch with my husband today and maybe cook a nice meal tomorrow.

I am headed to my sister’s house tonight for girl time. All our menfolk are out of town this weekend, so we get to watch movies and pig out on brownies and popcorn. It’s going to be a blast, and a wonderful way to recharge.

I went with my boyfriend, his dad, and his sister’s boyfriend to Freeport, TX to pick up their sailboat and spent 11 hours with them as we motored back to Kemah. The jib sheet tore when they were on their trek to Port Aransas in the Harvest Moon race. Today, we’re sleeping in, nursing our sunburns, and going to my little brother’s 9th birthday party. Fun times all around.

Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend.

We took the kids to “Howloscream” at Sea World San Antonio.

We thought they were ready for the Haunted Forest, but they were already freaked out about the walking zombies, werewolves, and pumpkin head people roaming around the place. We figured if we attended while it was still light out they wouldn’t be so scared…no chance.

Love the new look to your blog. Its really beautiful.

This weekend included a trip to the zoo with my son’s cub scouts pack, re-organizing kids clothing, laundry and general organizing/picking-up, grocery shopping, kids’ soccer and tennis, and helping my cub scout sell popcorn. Not an entirely thrilling weekend and I’m looking forward to some quiet time to read a new book tonight.
