I’ve been knocked on my ass with a cold/flu, and my requested revisions take precendence over new stuff, so I can’t give word counts, but I have gone through 70 pages of edits. Hoping to finish revisions this week and then get cracking on new stuff.

I had some written before the challenge started on my novella. The overall total is 11,515. I am trying to increase the number of words everyday. I have learned it’s better to write now and go back a fix an errors.

I was without Internet until today. 5250 words through yesterday. Actually it was around 1 this morning, but I started those words yesterday. This was a tough week since I was at yearbook camp in Dallas with 14 students. Worse, the characters weren’t “speaking” to me. I usually can hear them. Not this time. They were completely silent. So I moved forward with plot and wrote every day. AND FINALLY yesterday, they spoke. I could hear them, could see them, could feel them. I think finding their soundtrack helped, but I also think writing through the silence helped. Most of what I wrote until last night will probably be trashed, but lots of interesting character clues are hidden in those pages, so they weren’t wasted.

I know, I know, I’m late. It’s summer and if I’m not teaching, I lose track of days/dates.

I’m ahead of my goal. Now, if I can just keep it that way . . .

Hi all – was not online at yesterday day – nor did I write – drat – but so far I 3501 words – I had some written prior to the start of this so I am at 6853 all together. (Hey I doubled it, just noticed that – cool :))

I plan to hit it hard tonight. Do not Sven hunting me down…
