The cut-off date applies for all prizes to be awarded. The date was posted in the link above that has the note about RULES. EVERYONE can of course still play along and write their sweaty fingers to the bone for the support and camararderie (even comic book folk!!! yay!!!), but prize awards only go to those who signed up following the directions (both steps were clearly spelled out) in the original post!

Alison, I meant to sign up for your challenge when Walt first pointed it out to me. However, I hope that you won’t mind, I’m modifying it somewhat...

Instead of writing a book I’m going to write a series of comicbook scripts (because — well, that’s what I do — write comicbook scripts). Anyway, my scripts for an 8-page story run between 2,500 and 3,700 words, so I figure that if I write a script a week for the 10 weeks that between 25 and 37,000 words that would count. Yeah, yeah I know that it is less than the numbers that you crunched at the beginning of this challenge, but I know that I can get all 10 scripts published, and I don't know that I can get a single book published, so I figure that has to count.

So, well, if this works for you, than it works for me and I'm already off and running (just finished off my first script and am already on the second).

I am getting a late start, but I am still in, okay? My back decided that I should not sit at a computer or anywhere else for the last 4 days. You'd think I would have a plot by now.. *ahem* - not.

That's not an excuse - gosh, Erin, having the computer on all day writing in heat like that? Not good for computers OR people. But you could always do long-hand. ;) I hope it cools down and you can add some serious wordage. :)
