I miss weekends and holidays. But then, with two small children, I don't get days off anyway, so I figure it kind of balances. Writing gives me a break from toddlers and a mental vacation! At the time, we didn't have voicemail, so it was a busy job, but I still had time to write. Funny how more productive we can be when we are working another job. I thought this was the time to do nothing but write. (Well, there is the web design.) But it didn't work for me. There are things I don't like, the getting up early, the getting home late, but while I'm there, I'm doing what I would be doing here - so it's the perfect solution for me! Lois - The day job will financially let me give up one book a year. I'm not sure I will give it up, lol, but at least the pressure isn't so intense! Sasha – I didn’t think it would happen to me. But just from my experience from college papers that are nowhere near the same size as a book, I can only imagine how tough it is. I'm sure it's much easier when the words and ideas are pouring out than when they aren't, not to mention I can't imagine those of you who have more than one book coming out in a year! :) Lois I’m not a writer, but I think it’s like any other job, you have pros and cons. At least it didn;t with me.
