The Thirteen Books I Will Be Reading First

Last week I made mention of all the books that have been arriving from Amazon during the last few months, and that I’ve yet to even crack the covers on. By this weekend, the latest manuscript will be behind me (fingers crossed) and it will be time to read.

Here are the ones I’ve moved to the top of the TBR pile – in no particular order and for no other reason than they called to me when I was trying to clear the stacks from the floor. (Note my addiction to hardcovers. I’m obviously one of those who Kelli B. Grant would call foolish. ::snort:: Trust me. She doesn’t want to know what I would call her.)

1. THE MEPHISTO CLUB, Tess Gerritsen
2. LISEY’S STORY, Stephen King
3. THE FIRST CUT, Diane Emley
4. THE MATCHMAKER, Jamie Denton
5. JACOB, Jacquelyn Frank
6. THE THIRTEENTH TALE, Diane Setterfield
7. THE CROSSROADS CAFE, Deborah Smith
8. ONCE UPON A DAY, Lisa Tucker
9. TIED TO THE TRACKS, Rosina Lippi
10. GREEN DARKNESS, Anya Seton
11. PAINT IT BLACK, Janet Fitch
12. TURNING ANGEL, Greg Iles
13. ECHO PARK, Michael Connelly

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

I just heard someone rave about The Crossroads Cafe last night! And I didn’t realize that Jacquelyn Frank’s book was out now–that’s on my TBB, as is The Mephisto Club.

I have Mephisto, have ordered 13th Tale and the new King. I also have World War Z, The Book Thief and The Kite Runner that I’m dying to read. But now it’s work time – The Road to 911, The Master of Disguise and a book on Afghanistan.

THE THIRTEENTH TALE & CROSSROADS CAFE were two of my favorite books for this year. I hope you enjoy all of the 13 books you’ve chosen! :-)

I’ve read The Mephisto Club which was excellent! Also I’ve read The Thirteenth Tale and Turning Angel. Turning Angel was good but not his BEST. I would say Dead Sleep is the best one I’ve read by Greg Iles so far besides True Evil. The Thirteenth Tale was good but I’m not sure what you will think of it. It’s good but I think the hype was too much around it. It’s definetely interesting but just dont go into it thinking it’s going to be the best book ever written, cause it’s not. It’s absorbing and interesting and a good read. But I hate all the hype. It turns me off.
