So, there I am, flipping through the articles in the new RT, looking for the cover story “25 Ways To Sell Your Book”. I find it, see it’s written by Cindy Cruciger (waving at Cindy!), start reading, and there I am! Cindy mentions my viral marketing blogging blitz! Yay!
Now about that blitz for all of you readers and writers who blog. (I’m sorry I haven’t yet figured out logistics to include those of you who don’t blog!) I’m expecting more copies of DEEP BREATH to arrive, but right now only have a handful left to offer in conjunction with THIS POST. If you’re interested, email me per the post instructions (first come/first served until I run out – a waiting list after that) and I’ll explain the deal – but don’t jump too fast, as I have a new deal. (You have to pick one or the other; you can’t do both!)
One of the other tips for bookselling Cindy mentions in the article is from M.J. Rose who says:
Don’t rely on your website to do all the work. You can build it, but they won’t come unless you go and find your readers and get them to come and visit. Give away at least 100 copies of your books to people with big mouths.
And that’s what I’m going to do. *g* Here’s how it works.
You buy/beg/borrow/steal and read DEEP BREATH. You blog about it per the details below. Come November, I will send you a copy of BEYOND A SHADOW, my next Brava. Simple, yes? (And not that I expect to get 100 responses, but I am limiting it to that since I don’t get that many free copies!)

1.) You make a blog entry about DEEP BREATH during April. I’d like to create a buzz as early as possible, and though the book officially releases on 4/1, some online stores begin mailing it earlier and some brick & mortar stories don’t unpack and shelve their stock right away, so I’m giving you the whole month.
2.) You use this email address (marketing @ alisonkent.com) to send me a link to the blog entry.
3.) Once I’ve verified that the information is online, I will send you a link to a form you must fill out completely. This goes into a database, so it’s vital that you give me all the info I ask for or else you’ll be spit out and I won’t be able to send you BEYOND A SHADOW later this year.
Your blog entry doesn’t have to be raving praise. *g* It’s just about getting the word out, and sharing your thoughts on the book. You do have to blog during during the week (not on a weekend) and send me the link to it. You must also include a link to my blog and to the buy page for DEEP BREATH at either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Those two links use my Associates ID, or you can use your own, or just link directly to the book. I’m easy that way. :)
